Do As I Say, Not As I Do

February 28, 2010

Last night, the hubby and I went to see Avatar 3D.  The movie started at 6:35 on the other side of town; we had to drop the girls off at the in-laws.  We left our house around 5 something and at least had the sense to stop and get Bean something to eat.

We knew were didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg at the movie for snacks, so we stopped by good ‘ole Kroger.  I picked up some Reeces Pieces.  The hubby insisted I get another snack because the movie was almost 3 hours long.  I guess I should tell you that the hubby also picked up 2 cans of COKE for both of us at his parents house when we dropped off the girls.  So here is the current talley:  2 cans of coke for each, 1 box Reeces Pieces, 1 pack Red Vines, 1 box mini Butterfingers, and 1 box of Junior Mints.  Yikes.  Off to the movies.

We are starving at this point.  We were blinded by our hunger to even consider the snacks in my purse.  We decided to get popcorn and nachos at the concession stand.  Seriously.  That is a ton of food.  And we ate almost all of it.  And no dinner.  We literally at 100% junk for dinner.  In my defense, I did not finish the last part of my Coke or I would have seriously peed my pants.

Great great great movie.  I know some people didn’t like it but we thought it was awesome.  Okay, so movie is over.  I’m doing the pee pee dance and had been for the last 20 minutes of the movie.  Isn’t it the worse when you keep checking your watch because you have to go to the restroom but don’t want to miss anything?  We’ve picked up all of our stuff and the couples on both sides of us, in a pretty much EMPTY movie theater, are just sitting there.  Looking at us.  Seriously people.  Isn’t it enough that you had to sit right next to us as opposed to the 30+ other empty row, now you want me to pee in my pants.  Move it or loose it people.  One old lady actually gave us a weird look for going in front of her; guess she didn’t want to miss the non 3D credits.

So we pick up the wee little ones and I tell my MIL about our yummy dinner.  In the car ride home, Bean says, “you guys know that junk food is not a healthy dinner.  I would never have been able to just eat that.”  I was thinking, listen up little lady:  Do as I say, not as I do.  How funny that I want to whip out the phrases that my dad used to say to me?  She’s right though.  I just bought a new pair of size TWO jeans on friday night.  I don’t want my butt to out grow those.  My breastfeeding diet/workout is working for me.  Enough rambles.

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT OUR CURRENT GIVEAWAYS.  April will be full of some awesome products for our baby & toddler month product tour.  Check back often.

I loved Avatar. We saw Shutter Island last night. I’m on the fence about it.

That was a great movie but sooo long! We had gone V-Day weekend so it was packed. The special effects were awesome. My daughter loves salads and is just starting to eat junk food. We don’t usually let her have it and I felt bad the one day eating a piece of chocolate in the car and not offering her a piece. It was soon nap time and I didn’t want a two year old on a sugar high. I avoided her look of “hey, what do you have” in the rearview mirror. I find myself frequently using phrases my parents used on me and my sis.

How funny…we sneak snacky contraband into the theater too. And then we make all kinds of noise opening them! =)

Its funny how when you have to go to the restroom everything seems to take extra long and people wont get out of your way. lol

It’s so easy to pig out on junk food at the movies! I am a popcorn junkie, love it!
