Feel Good Friday!

February 26, 2010

This week I have decided to write about something that happened to you this week that really made me smile.  Was it your children, husband, or maybe a complete stranger did to you?  How’s about all of the above?

  • The Hubby: Boy did I SMILE when he came home from his business trip.  Though he was only gone for 2 days, it seemed like forever considering we have previously survived 2 week stints.  Yesterday night, I got the pleasure of taking a cranky baby to a roller skating party put on by the PTA.  I also volunteered myself to take Bean’s friend with us; always fun taking 2 LOUD children and a cranky baby anywhere.  Every time I talked to him yesterday night, it seemed like he would never be home:  We are almost there (liar), I’m getting off the highway for gas, stopping by McDonald’s (get me a LARGE Coke)…The door opening was the sweetest sound of the day!
  • Bean: I’m preemptively smiling at the thought of Bean having to clean up her bomb of a room.  I would seriously take a picture right now if it wasn’t just downright embarrassing.  They seriously took out every toy and item they could displace in this room.  When I pick up Bean from a play-date, I always make sure she has cleaned up her room but I don’t think all kids do this.  She’s a little bummed that she has to do all the work without help but I told her that maybe she will ask her visiting friend to help next time.  I am NOT cleaning it up this time like I always do.  I am, however, going to do a quick walk-through and pick up some junk that I want to throw away but she would never let me.  Dad is home and he’s due for a good cleaning excursion.
  • Baby Bird: So, anyone that knows me knows I don’t do vomit.  Seriously.  It’s the hubby’s job.  It was in our marital vows, okay it wasn’t but it should have been.  We’ve got this “understanding.”  This morning, I tried sneaking in some cut up Gerber Graduate apple pieces in with Baby Bird’s applesauce snack.  Uh yeah.  Didn’t fool her.  She always gags with them.  Not this time.  She puked.  One her high chair tray.  Twice in a row.  My mouth dropped open because I have to deal with this; hubby is at work.  I SMILED and cleaned her up.  No retching on my part I might add.  How good am I?  Not sure how I did it but I did.  Hubby owes me a few really bad diapers to cancel this out!  You seriously don’t know how proud I am of myself.  I will not do it again!
  • Stranger: Nothing is sweeter to see someone drive past you, flipping you the bird and giving you the eye because you aren’t driving like Mario Andretti.  Nothing is sweeter than seeing said person get pulled over for speeding while you drive by giving them a smile.  I wanted to wave but thought that was just tasteless.  Yeah right.  I didn’t want to curse myself and my Karma.  Sorry about your luck crazy Honda minivan driver.

I love it that the guy got pulled over – I wish that would happen more often!!!!! That is a universal Feel Good moment!

My baby girl would gag up banana baby food. I would always try every so often and the tiniest taste andshe would do it – yuck! Now she is 2 and eats them regularly!!

It was crazy how loud the music was and I thought I liked loud music. Apparently only when the kiddos aren’t around. Sadly, I wished the hubby was there because I really wanted to take a spin around the rink.

Thanks for your comment on my blog for FGF. Love it that the person was pulled over. It has happened a couple of times before with us. Someone will blow right by us and right up the road you see them pulled-over.

    Have a wonderful weekend.
