We Celebrate Three-Quarters Birthdays in this House!

January 25, 2010

Not that we need a reason to eat cake, but we had one today.

Happy 6.75 th Birthday Bean!

Love the skirt?  Just made it.  Check out the tutorial.

This hubby thinks I’m silly, but I am a little sad.  This means that in one quarter of a year, we will have a 7-year-old and a 1-year-old (Baby Bird was born 10 days before Bean turned 6).  Where have the years gone?  Where has the YEAR gone?  It’s funny to see how much our kids change even between 6 to 7.  It happened so quick.  I think I’m going to do a photo a week for each of the girls next year so I can really map it.

Look at me getting all “emotional” over a three-quarter birthday.  You’d think I was preggo emotional or something.  Thankful that I am not (I think).  That would be crazy!  Though I think about it, we know our sanity is not quite ready for it again yet.

Reminds me of the conversation we had on the way home from the in-laws tonight.  Let me set the mood.  Bean is talking, constantly, like she always does.  Baby Bird is babbling with her 10 word vocabulary (at 9 months I might add).

Me:  I can’t imagine what life would be like without my children?  You know, like your Aunt.

Hubby:  She would have been a great mom.

Me:  Yeah.   Obviously, we did at one point but it’s hard to look back, ya know?  I wonder how it feels to be older and not have any children.

Hubby:  Peaceful.

Life is crazy, but we wouldn’t trade it for anything else…except maybe a night out every once and a while.  Again, “Happy Day” to our oldest lady.

(Photo taken by Bean.  Somehow I got laser fingers and no head.  Good times!)
